Our lab conducts research on human cognition in adults and children.   At the present time, we are focused primarily on two rather different projects.

Learning & Memory.  We are investigating the fundamental processes by which humans learn and remember information.  What factors influence the ease with which we acquire and retain new knowledge, and how can their effects be explained?

Visual Perception.  We are studying the ways in which cognitive and sensory processes contribute to visual awareness.  How do knowledge and high-level cognitive control processes interact with basic sensory mechanisms to produce our rich conscious experience of the visual world?
